Alex Russell, is Running the Reading Half Marathon in a Lion Suit for Cowshed!

Get ready to cheer! Our very own Managing Director, Alex, is taking on the Reading Half Marathon on March 22nd, not just for the challenge, but for a fantastic cause, and in a truly unforgettable outfit.

Here at Martyn Russell Property, we're not just about bricks and mortar; we're deeply rooted in our community. That's why we're incredibly proud to announce that our Managing Director, Alex, is lacing up his running shoes (or perhaps, his lion paws!) for the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday, March 22nd.

Why a Lion Suit? And Why Cowshed Charity?

You read that right! Alex will be tackling the gruelling 13.1 miles dressed head-to-toe in an inflatable lion suit. Why, you ask? Well, beyond the sheer entertainment value and the promise of some truly memorable photos, it's all in aid of the wonderful Cowshed charity.

Cowshed charity does incredible work right here in our local area, providing vital support and resources to those who need it most. Their dedication to improving lives resonates deeply with our values as a family-run, independent agency. We believe in giving back and supporting the community that supports us, and Cowshed's mission aligns perfectly with that.

More Than Just a Run: It's About Community Spirit

For us, this isn't just about Alex running a race; it's about demonstrating the spirit of our team and our commitment to the local area. We're not a volume-based agency; we give more time to each property because we can, and we extend that same care and effort to our community initiatives.

Alex's challenge embodies the 'more care, effort, and transparency' approach we bring to everything we do. Running a half marathon in an inflatable lion suit certainly takes effort, and we're sure there will be plenty of transparency about how challenging it is!

How You Can Support Alex and Cowshed Charity

We'd love for you, our fantastic clients and neighbours in Earley and East Reading, to join us in supporting Alex and the Cowshed charity. Here are a few ways you can get involved:

  • Donate: Every penny counts! You can find Alex's fundraising page here (link to be added).
  • Cheer Him On: If you're out and about on March 22nd, keep an eye out for a rather large, slightly out-of-breath lion. Your cheers will make a huge difference!
  • Spread the Word: Share this blog post and Alex's fundraising efforts with your friends and family. The more people who know, the more support we can gather.

We'll be sharing updates on Alex's training (and perhaps some sneak peeks of the lion suit in action!) on our social media channels, so make sure you're following us.

A Personal Touch, Just Like Our Service

This initiative reflects the personal, dedicated service we offer. Just as Alex is putting in the extra effort for Cowshed, we put in the extra effort for our clients. From agent-led video tours that create an emotional connection to drone media and WhatsApp updates that guarantee total clarity, we provide the very best marketing – it's standard here.

We're here to help you move forward, whether that's cheering on a local hero or helping you find your next family home with potential and character. This is just another example of how we aim to change how people feel about estate agents through genuine interactions.
