44 Miles So More Children Can Start School With Confidence

44 Miles So More Children Can Start School With Confidence

At Martyn Russell Property, we believe in giving back to our community. This year, one of our Directors, Alex, is taking on an incredible challenge to support a fantastic local charity, Cowshed, ensuring more children start school with the confidence they deserve.

Community is at the heart of what we do at Martyn Russell Property. As a family-run independent agency, it’s always been about more than just houses. It’s about the people who live in them and the communities around them.

That’s why we’re proud to announce Alex’s latest challenge, a 44-mile relay run across the Cornish coastline from Lizard Point to Land’s End alongside his wife, Vicky, in aid of Cowshed. While it’s a relay, it’s still 22 tough miles each across steep climbs, uneven trails and constant undulation along the coastline.

A Challenge for a Cause: Supporting Cowshed

This isn't just any run; it's a mission to raise vital funds for Cowshed, a wonderful local charity dedicated to providing essential items to families in need. Imagine the difference a new school bag, a fresh set of stationery, or a proper lunchbox can make to a child's first day. It's about more than just items; it's about giving children the confidence to walk into school feeling prepared and ready to learn.

Martyn's passion for this cause stems from a deep understanding of how crucial a confident start can be. Every child deserves to feel good about themselves, especially when embarking on their educational journey. Cowshed helps make this a reality for many families right here in our community.

The Road to Land's End: A Personal Journey

This challenge is particularly meaningful for Alex, as it's been a long time coming. Last year, an injury unfortunately put a halt to his plans. But true to his determined spirit, he's back, stronger and more committed than ever to complete this epic run. The Cornish coastline, with its dramatic cliffs and breath-taking views, will provide a challenging but inspiring backdrop for this incredible feat.

We'll be cheering him on every step of the way, and we invite you to join us in supporting this fantastic cause. Every donation, no matter how small, will directly contribute to helping Cowshed provide those essential school items, making a tangible difference in a child's life.

Why This Matters to Us

At Martyn Russell Property, we believe in going the extra mile, whether it's for our clients or our community. We're not a volume-based agency; we give more time to each property because we can, and we extend that same dedication to supporting local initiatives. Our commitment to providing the very best marketing – agent-led video tours, drone footage, and social media reels – is standard here, but so is our commitment to being a positive force in Earley and the surrounding areas.

A big part of what we do as a business is rooted in the community. Alex has been involved for the past few years as manager of the Burghfield Bisons Under-9s, and this season, Martyn Russell has also come on board to sponsor the Under-9s age group, which includes three teams.
